TOTO Neorest LS vs RS: Neorest Comparison
TOTO had some big news back in June of 2023 when it was announced that many of its most popular Washlet bidet seats and Neorest bidet toilets were being discontinued and replaced with upgraded models.
Wondering about the difference between TOTO Washlet and Neorest? A Washlet is what TOTO calls an electric bidet seat and a Neorest is TOTO’s term for an integrated bidet toilet.
TOTO Neorest LS vs RS
One of the most popular products being discontinued is the TOTO Neorest 700H. In its place will be the brand new TOTO Neorest LS.
Another very popular model being discontinued is the TOTO Neorest RH. Replacing this bidet toilet is the brand new TOTO Neorest RS.
That was a lot of info already, we know. So what’s the scoop on these new models from TOTO?
We aim to answer this question and more with our guide to the differences between the TOTO Neorest LS vs RS.
TOTO Neorest RS vs LS - Differences
Those looking to buy the soon-to-be discontinued models often wondered about the differences between the TOTO Neorest 700H and Neorest RH. Because of this, we knew we needed to get the answers out on these new models.
The seven main differences between the Neorest RS vs LS we've found are:
- Extra EWATER under seat
- Trim color options
- Remote control style
- Seated height
- Product weight and dimensions
- Look
- Price
Let’s go into more detail on each one.
EWATER
TOTO employs what it calls EWATER (which is electrolyzed water) as a more natural cleaning agent. Electrolyzed water has a lower ph and is able to work as a natural cleaning agent without the use of harsh chemicals.
As you approach the toilet, a motion sensor is triggered and the EWATER starts doing its job automatically.

On the Neorest RS, EWATER is used to clean the bidet wand and toilet bowl before and after each use. On the Neorest LS, EWATER cleans not only the wand and bowl, but also mists underneath the seat to keep that clean as well.
Color Trim Options
The TOTO Neorest LS comes equipped with some brand new color options that its predecessor, the Neorest 700H, did not.
Now you have the three trim color options:
- Silver
- Black
- Nickel

Depending on which color you choose, there are different price options as well. Click here for the latest TOTO Neorest price for the LS.
The Neorest RS only comes with one standard “cotton” color or finish. Those already familiar with the TOTO Neorest RH should know what to expect as this has not changed at all.

Remote Control
Another difference we’ve found between the TOTO Neorest RS vs LS is the look and design of the remote control. The Neorest RS remote control is “block style” and made from high quality plastic.

The Neorest LS remote control is “stick style” and made from metal.
Both new Neorest remote controls offer four user presets, an update from the two previously offered on the models these new ones are replacing.
Seated Height
Where these new Neorest models also differ is in the overall seated height.
- Neorest LS floor to seat height is 17.312”
- Neorest RS floor to seat height is 17.687”
Granted we’re talking about fractions of an inch here, but if you or a loved one have a disability or mobility issue of any kind, this can make a difference. For more info about bidets and those with disabilities, you can read our article about that here.
Product Weight and Other Dimensions
If you’re remodeling your home or looking to replace a major appliance like a toilet, it’s important to have all the right product specifications in hand. With some bathrooms an inch or two here and there can make all the difference.
The dimensions for the Neorest LS are displayed below:
Now you can compare that to the Neorest RS:
One difference between the Neorest RS vs LS is product weight. The LS is slightly heavier than the RS.
- The Neorest LS is 112 lbs
- The Neorest RS is 95 lbs.
Another area of difference is product width. We found the Neorest LS to be one inch wider than the Neorest RS.
- The Neorest LS is 16.19” wide
- The Neorest RS is 15.19” wide
The height from the floor to when the lid is raised or fully open is different when comparing the Neorest LS vs RS as well. If you’re trying to squeeze in a toilet in a smaller area or have a shelf above your current toilet, this might be important to note.
- The Neorest LS floor to raised lid height is 44.9”
- The Neorest RS floor to raised lid height is 41”

Overall Design
The general look and appearance of the Neorest LS vs RS is different as well. The Neorest RS has more rounded, soft curves where the Neorest LS is more angular and perhaps modern looking?
It will be up to you to decide which of these is more visually appealing to you. Aesthetics are subjective so it’s hard to say which design is “better.” Let us know in the comments which one you like the look of better and we’ll tally the results to find a winner!
TOTO Neorest Price
This is another large difference between the Neorest RS vs LS. Because of all of the reasons mentioned above, there will be a difference in price. The Neorest LS is the more expensive of the two, but it’s not wildly different like in the case of the TOTO Neorest 700H and the Neorest NX1.
Other than those differences, these two Neorest bidet toilets are very similar. They both share all of the same cleaning features.
Some of these main cleaning and design features the Neorest LS and Neorest RS share:
- Adjustable water temperature and pressure
- Unlimited, instant warm water wash
- Automatic open/close lid
- Seamless Seat
- Heated seat
- Deodorizer
- Warm air dryer
- Remote control with 4 user presets
- Energy saving systems
- ADA compliant
- Auto-flush mode
- TORNADO flush
- CEFIONTECT glaze
- PREMIST
- EWATER
