Ten Reasons Why We Love Bidets in 2024

Ten Reasons Why We Love Bidets in 2024

By now I'm sure you're aware that we have a healthy appreciation for the awesome power of bidets. We believe they are one of the greatest modern conveniences of the last 100 years.

The range of personal and health benefits offered by these helpful little machines is hard to quantify. That's why we’ve come up with ten reasons why we love them and we think you will too!

1. You feel much cleaner after using a bidet

This is probably the most universal and profound way in which bidets enrich our lives. Going to the bathroom is inherently dirty. Unless you take a shower after each time you go (which would be very impractical) you're never going to be fully clean.

When you use a bidet, you will notice how much cleaner you feel for hours afterwards. You can rest easy going out in the world knowing you took care of your business and you're as clean as can be.

2. You'll use less toilet paper and save money and trees

Covid-19 and The Great Toilet Paper Shortage of 2020 highlighted the importance of not being so reliant on TP in the bathroom. Americans use an estimated 7 BILLION+ rolls of toilet paper a year which requires 31 million trees to be cut down just for toilet paper annually.

By using a bidet you can easily cut down on toilet paper usage by 75% or more. Toilet paper use can be completely eliminated if you utilize the air drying feature of some models or by using a small towel to dry instead.

Americans spend on average $182 per year on toilet paper. By eliminating this cost, your bidet will pay for itself in just a few years. You will also never have to worry about whether or not you can buy toilet paper at the store.

3. Bidets save water

This may come as a surprise to some seeing as how this amazing invention literally uses water to clean, but rest assured we can explain.

Some research states that it takes up to 37 gallons of water to produce ONE ROLL of toilet paper!

Bidets in comparison use around 1/8 of a gallon per use. The amount of water used in the production of toilet paper far outweighs the water used by a bidet.

4. The elderly and anyone with limited mobility benefit greatly

If you or a loved one are unable to reach behind themselves due to an injury, disability or limited mobility for any reason, then bidets can offer peace of mind and increased hygiene.

For those who are aging and unable to physically do some of the things they used to be able to do as effectively, bidets can be a real game-changer. No one should have to suffer the indignity of not being able to properly clean themselves when the benefits of a bidet are clear.

5. Bidets are more hygienic than cleaning with toilet paper

It may go without saying but the reason you feel cleaner after using a bidet is because you actually are cleaner. When you use toilet paper to wipe, your hands are going to get dirty and you’re going to have to rely on proper hand washing practices.

With bidets you don't have to worry about spreading germs to yourself or others nearly as much because your hands, fingers and nails don't come into direct contact with your dirty bum. Everything is rinsed before you ever go anywhere near it. You will just be drying an assuredly clean bum.

6. Bidets help those with sensitive skin and bum related health issues

If you're suffering from hemorrhoids or anal fissures, the last thing you want to do is wipe dry, scratchy paper over this sensitive area. In fact, over-wiping with toilet paper is a leading cause of anal fissures in America.

We’re using too much toilet paper and many of us are using it incorrectly, leading to health problems. When you use a bidet, toilet paper is there to simply dry yourself by dabbing gently.

The warm, gentle water spray can alleviate the discomfort of hemorrhoids and anal fissures and enable them to heal properly.

7. Prevent clogs in your toilet and septic system

As previously mentioned, when you switch to bidets you can reduce toilet paper usage by 75% or more. Clogging the toilet can be a costly repair if you have to call a plumber.

By drastically reducing or completely eliminating your need for toilet paper you’ll put less of a strain on your toilet’s plumbing and the overall septic system. No more worries about overflowing toilets.

8. Bidets Can help relieve constipation

Some of the bidets we sell like the Ultra-NOVA have an enema wash feature, where a high pressure stream is gently focused on the lower colin, softening stool to help you go.

The pressure of the water in this area will also help trigger a bowel movement. Having a gentle warm water enema sounds much nicer than anal suppositories and drinking prune juice milkshakes.

9. Provide higher levels of comfort

Waking up in the middle of the night to sit on a freezing cold toilet seat is not fun. You will be delighted to discover that some of the bidet toilet seats we sell will render these unfortunate experiences a thing of the past.

Warm water, air drying, oscillating water pressure settings, automatic lid opening and self cleaning and heated seats are some examples of the many comforts awaiting you with your new bidet. You will feel like royalty as your electronic toilet cleans and soothes your most sensitive areas.

Not only will you feel pampered, you will rest assured knowing that you’re actually achieving the most clean and hygienic state possible after using the bathroom. It’s what we call the ultimate clean.

10. Bidets make your bathroom more attractive

The style and elegance of a new bidet toilet is undeniable. Bidets are affordable luxuries that instantly upgrade the appearance and functionality of your bathroom.

However, few people think about the fact that having a bidet in one or more bathrooms can actually increase the resale value of your home.

If you purchase a new toilet with an electronic bidet seat or an all in one integrated bidet toilet, this is a real investment into your home’s value.

Some of our products border on the futuristic fantasy world depicted in the movies we grew up with. The high tech gadgets of the future are yours to own today.

Is a Bidet Toilet Seat Really Worth it?

Of course!

With a wide range of prices and options available to you and all the massive benefits of using one laid out above, there's no reason why you wouldn't want a bidet seat or bidet toilet in your bathroom.

We hope this list has been helpful in understanding the myriad ways in which bidets can enrich not only our lives, but the planet we all live on. Bidets are here to stay.

At Premier Bidets, we strive to spread awareness as advocates for the benefits of bidets to the community.

We hope you will join us in the fight to bring bidets into every home in America where they are so desperately needed.
